Bhikkhu Nanamoli, Translator

Venerable Nanamoli (1905-60) was born in England and became a monk in Sri Lanka in 1949. During the eleven years he spent as a monk, he translated from Pali into lucid English some of the most difficult texts of Theravada Buddhism, including the Visuddhimagga.


Bhikkhu Bodhi, Translator

Bhikkhu Bodhi is an American Buddhist monk from New York City, ordained in Sri Lanka in 1972. He held the position of president and editor of the Buddhist Publication Society. His books include The All-Embracing Net of Views, A Comprehensive Manual of Abhidhamma, and (as co-translator) The Middle Length Discourses of the Buddha. He lives in Sri Lanka.
